The Chemicals Behind Cosmetic Products

If you are using Han’s Skin Care products, you should know that some products contained harmful ingredients. The advisory was released by the HSA (Health Sciences Authority) on February 7, 2014. HAS is recommending the public especially the users to stop using it and dispose the products with harmful ingredients.

Consumers should know the harmful effects of cosmetic products. You should also know the chemicals that are incorporated in every cosmetic product or the personal care products in general. Here’s an idea:

Researchers are very keen to advise the public to stay away from cosmetic products that contain phthalates. Phthalates is a key component in plastic. If you check the labels, you will not see this component. Phthalates are seen in lotions, perfumes, hair spray and nail polish.

Butylated Hydroxytoluene

You should also watch out for cosmetic products containing butylated hydroxytoluene. This chemical is used as an antioxidant. It will cause eye and skin irritation over time.

Formaldehyde is also used in the manufacturing of cosmetic products. It is not indicated in the label. Shampoos, soap, nail polish, deodorant and many cosmetics will not be completed without formaldehyde.

For a complete list of the products identified with harmful ingredients, please refer to HSA’s website.
